Repairing the Sloop Lithograph by Thomas Hart Benton with signature- American Artwork

Our son T.P. Benton spent much of his time during his boyhood summers in Martha’s Vineyard with sail boats. He developed a life long interest in them. Some fifteen years ago he built the sloop shown in the litho and sailed it to Florida where he then lived. Last year, 1973, he brought the sloop back to Martha’s Vineyard for repairs. The litho shows him working on her replacing damaged stripping.
